A Gift to the Community!

Thanks Ed and Coz for a great workshop! This workshop is a gift to the community. Ed’s 30 years of experience and Coz’s energy put listening skills in a whole new light. I teach communications skills for a living, and was amazed at what I learned about my own listening style – along with experienced therapists, community leaders, and others. Go to this workshop, or better yet bring them to your workplace. It will make a real difference.

“This is the most effective workshop!”

“This is the most effective workshop we’ve had since I’ve been at Kendal! The communication skills taught in this workshop will shrink problem-solving time, improve trust, and enrich our culture with greater care and respect.”

Laura Peters, Human Resources Development Manager, Kendal at Ithaca

“Listening is love!”

“It is not possible to overstate the benefit of The Listening Workshop. Listening is an essential part of the Life Writing workshops, and these folks took my listening skills to a whole new level. We can heal our world with this! Listening is love!”

“This is really powerful stuff, seriously!”

“When I saw the listserv announcement for The Listening Workshop I thought to myself I am not a great listener-What could it hurt? What an understatement! I left the workshop feeling absolutely certain that this is going to profoundly change my Life! This technique clearly enhances understanding, emotional healing, and offers a whole new way to handle conflict!

This is really powerful stuff, seriously.”

“Thanks for making this powerful work so accessible!”

Dear Coz and Ed,

A belated thank you for so generously sharing your skills and vision of how we might learn to listen well to one another. I long for a world where we can all express ourselves honestly and hold one another’s experiences with care and understanding. It was a hopeful morning for me, being in a roomful of strangers beginning to learn to do just that.

Thanks for making this powerful work so accessible.

Kind regards,
R.

“I LOVED This Workshop!”

Dear Coz and Ed,

I LOVED this workshop. I recommend marketing it further, and spreading the word to schools, churches, etc. and more of the public. So valuable and you two were fabulous.

Thank you,
Charlene Temple

“So energized!”

“Dear Ed and Coz, thanks for putting on the listening seminar on Saturday! I started using it with my husband that night after the kids went to bed, and he would have talked all night if I would have not stopped him because I was falling asleep! He was so energized; he felt like when we were courting; it was a little hilarious.

It definitely takes some discipline to remember to click into the Listening Zone, so it’s obviously a continuous challenge, but it’s one I appreciate learning about. Thank you for taking your time to offer this to the community for free on a regular basis. When I showed up, I couldn’t see how the topic could possibly fill the time allotted, but then when the time was up, it was like we had barely begun!”

Thanks again!

“Thanks again for giving your time and energy to this!”

“I’m still appreciating the new listening awareness I got from the class. What I am most grateful for is having something to grab onto when inside I’m thinking “now how do I respond to this?” Also, it gives me more confidence when going into a charged situation that needs addressing (an angry child, for example). Thanks again for giving your time and energy to this.”

Anita Graf, Ithaca

“I feel myself much more involved in the discussion!”

“The listening workshop I attended last Saturday was quite beneficial. During the past week, my partner and I intentionally practiced the “You…” and avoid “I…”. By doing so, both of us feel the quality of our communication has improved. I also tried to implement the same technique into working communication. Simply by paraphrasing my colleague’s key points, I feel myself much more involved in the discussion. With the “digestion” and “reproduction”, I learned the essence of the discussion. I really appreciate your efforts in putting together this workshop.”

“You are doing important work!”

“Thanks for thinking of me, and please, please keep me in mind if you do another of these. You are doing important work. Often I use my experiences in your Listening Workshop to become a better parent, friend, group participant. Your workshops are a part of a paradigm shift springing up from a grass roots populace. I applaud you.”
